Focused Instruction Day
In its third year of providing a fun and rewarding learning experience to pupils, IMC has been implementing its Focused Instruction Day (FID) a specialized once-a-week program designed to extend, supplement, and complement the teaching and learning of the different subjects in a more relaxed setup utilizing Singaporean materials. The students also get to learn a variety of musical instruments such as flute, guitar, ukulele, and drum and lyre, which aim to help the pupils achieve academic achievement. Research shows that learning how to play instruments facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas.
Moreover, we also provide the pupils a meaningful context to learn different concepts and skills and an opportunity for collaborative learning with peers through its FID PLAY in which they get to play a wide array of popular childhood games contrary to the digital games and apps that they get hooked into nowadays. In the spirit of fun and collaborative learning, FID serves as a breather for our students in which they get to engage themselves in enriching activities after an intellectually challenging week.
